Budget Committee Says Eyes on Revenue Collection
The Budget and Finance Committee of Parliament says it will focus much on how the government has fared in revenue collection in the first half of the financial year when the house reconvenes for the mid-year budget review session next month.
Chairperson of the committee, Sosten Gwengwe, has told Zodiak Online that this is because revenue collection is key to making the budget a success or a failure in uplifting the socio-economic development of the country.
A Catholic University-based economist Gilbert Kachamba says he expects the parliamentarians to also dwell much on how Capitol Hill has performed in terms of expenditure.
