MAM to Introduce checkpoints on Roads to Deal With Passenger Overloading.

Minibus Owners Association of Malawi says will soon introduce checkpoints on the country’s roads to deal with passenger overloading as one way of preventing possible spread of coronavirus.

Acting Chairperson for the Organization , Felix Bonekela Msiska said in an interview continued overloading in min buses is mainly due to lack of seriousness on the part of passengers in adhering to traffic regulations which needs to be addressed.

Meanwhile, In Dowa, the drivers say they know the president's directive on sitting capacity but say they cannot comply saying fuel prices are high.

They suggest that the president should order reduction of fuel prices to K500 a litre if the directive is to be complied with.
