MEC' plans to Hire South African Lawyers Suffers a Heavy Blow

Plans by the Malawi Electoral Commission to have two South African lawyers to represent it in the presidential election appeal case are in limbo following a national lock-down and grounding of all planes in South Africa.

Chief Elections Officer Sam Alfandika says the two attorneys were expected in the country on April 8 but their arrival is uncertain as there are no flights connecting Malawi and South Africa at the moment.
