APM Announces New Measures in Fight Against COVID19

President Peter Mutharika has announced new measures aimed at preventing spread of the corona virus in the country.

This comes as Malawi has now registered 4 COVID19 confirmed cases.

Among some measures President Mutharika has directed the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority-MERA to reduce fuel prices, The Ministry of Health to hike health workers risk allowance and hire 2000 more.

The president has also advised that all offices, except those working in essential services, work in shifts to decongest work places and all employers allow venerable employees including those with underlining medical conditions to work from home.

Meanwhile Malawi Health Equity Network-MEHN has hailed the move saying it will go a long way in preventing further spread of the various.

However MEHN executive Director George Jobe has highlighted the need for Government to close the country’s boarders
