Prison Officers Resume Work
Junior prison officers who were on an industrial strike to force authorities to among others promote them have resumed work but have given government up to 30th May to resolve all grievances the officers gave.
The resumption of duties follows a decision by the prison department to promote all warders to seargents, seargents to sub inspectors while sub inspectors to inspectors with immediate effect.
Two days ago junior officers from some major prison facilities including Zomba central, Chichiri, Maula and Mzuzu staged an industrial strike to push authorities address their concerns.
