Heath Expert Asks Gvt to Speed up Construction of Covid19 Quarantine Centers

A Heath expert Maziko Matemba has asked government to speed up construction of Covid19 isolation and quarantine centers in all districts in a bid to avoid overwhelming central hospitals.

The expert says, each district should have an isolation and testing centre so that covid19 patients and suspects are taken care of right in their districts since it could be problematic for some districts to send patients and samples to central hospitals as it involves costs (money/funds).

In most districts in the country, including Neno, construction of Covid19 isolation and quarantine centers are underway, meaning should a case be detected, there will be a need for a referral.

It is against this background, that a health expert Maziko Matemba is urging government to fast track construction of isolation and quarantine centers in all districts across the country in order to lessen the burden that central hospitals will have as cases of confirmed covid19 cases are still rising.

Matemba also says, the centers should be furnished with all needed equipment for both testing and personal protection for medical personnel and also kitchens to feed the patients.
