Five More Bodies Arrive From South Africa

Three days after ten bodies of Malawians were brought in from South Africa through Mwanza border after they died during the lock down in the rainbow nation, five more followed on Monday.

The fifteen are said to have died in different circumstances that include mob-justice, accidents and illnesses, according to Mwanza border immigration spokesperson Pasqually Zulu.

Zulu says, the initial lot of ten bodies were of Malawians from Mzimba, Ntcheu, Nsanje and Nkhata-bay district.

He says:- "We are engaging all Covid 19 precautionary measures with support from Mwanza health officials when the dead bodies arrive."

While the initial ten bodies have been repatriated to respective district hospitals, the latest five are still in the hands of authorities who will advise on the way forward.
