All electoral commissioners have been sworn in. Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda has implored on them to always remember that their ultimate responsibility is to safeguard political will of the electorates and “not specific individuals.
New MEC chair judge Chifundo Kachale came for swearing-in pledging to ensure that the glory of the commission is restored and that the law is basis of operations.
Dr. Kachale was escorted to the ceremony by wife Mary who is also Director of Public Prosecution in Malawi. The event was held at the High Court in Blantyre.
