We Want to Regain Public Trust- MEC

At a media briefing monday night MEC Chair Dr. Kachale said the commission is treating the historic fresh presidential election today with all seriousness to regain public trust.

Justice Dr. Kachale cited for instance challenges on deployment of security officers in some centers and refusal by some presiding officers at the eleventh hour to take up the task.

Meanwhile, the MEC chairperson says the commission has put up modalities on addressing technical and logistical hitches that could compromise the electoral process for the poll to be fair and credible.

Without disclosing details, he said the commission has received complaints on allegations of electoral fraud and violence in Lilongwe and Nkhotakota.
