While exercising his duties as the president of the country Chakwera has appointed Dr Saulosi Chilima who is also the vice president as Minister Responsible for Economic Planning and Development and Public Sector Reforms.

Minister of finance is now Felix Mlusu replacing Joseph Mwanamvekha.

Modecai Msiska SC has been appointed as the new minister of Justice and constitutional Affairs whereas Richard Chimwendo Banda is now the new Minister of Homeland Security.

Dr Chikosa Silungwe is now the new Attorney General.

Apart from appointing the ministers, the president has also appointed some senior government officials.

Zangazanga Chikhosi and Dr Janet Banda SC have assumed the roles of Chief Secretary to the Government and Deputy Chief Secretary to the Government respectively.

Prince Kapondamgaga is now Chief of Staff of State Residences
