Medical Professor Suggests Mandatory Wearing of Masks Be Made National

A medical professor at the College of Medicine is suggesting that mandatory wearing of masks be made national and not enforced by institutions only as is the case at the moment.

Professor Adamson Muula says latest studies find that a face mask offers about 65 percent protection from Coronavirus.

Several public and private entities are now adopting a no mask no entry COVID-19 preventive measure.

Meanwhile, as the country continues to register a surge in local transmission, Dedza District Commissioner Emmanuel Bulukutu has raised concern over a rise in the number of people that are entering the country through unchartered routes.

According to Bulukutu, some transporters are aiding Malawians to travel from South Africa to here through corrupt means.
