ACB Awaits Supreme Court' Direction on K1.7 Billion Muluzi Case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) says it is waiting for direction from the Supreme Court on how the K1.7 billion case involving former President Bakili Muluzi should proceed.

The Bureau’s Director General Reyneck Matemba told Zodiak online that this is because Muluzi’s lawyers obtained a stay of the criminal proceedings in the High Court after challenging certain sections of the Corrupt Practices Act and the highest court is yet to give its direction.

But Matemba maintains that the bureau has always been ready with the case that has dragged on since 2006.
