Govt. Intervenes in ESCOM and Raiply Electricity Poles Feud
Government has demanded the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi ESCOM and Raiply Limited to come forward with information that is forcing the two institutions fail to agree on signing an electricity poles deal.
This comes at a time when Raiply Limited has been complaining of failing to supply electricity poles to ESCOM after investing billions in the project, while ESCOM has been buying the poles from suppliers outside due to what it says substandard poles the local investor produces.
After visiting Raiply Friday, Energy Minister Newton Kambala says government is ready to intervene on the matter to come up with a lasting solution so that the local investor's product meets the required specifications and gets supported.
