COVID19 Restrictions Hinders Youth Access to SRHS-FPAM

The Family Planning Association of Malawi FPAM says some of the restrictions on prevention of further spread of Coronavirus have forced some youths to stop accessing Sexual reproductive Health Services from designated sites putting the youths at risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies.

Board chairperson for FPAM Mzuzu office Peter Mumba said the number of youths assessing SRHS services at the Mzuzu center for instance has reduced by 80% in the past three months.

FPAM district manager for Mzimba north Alinafe Chaponda told Zodiak Friday the organization will be using local existing structures to promote awareness to the youths on the need to still seek Sexual reproductive health services at their facilities.
