Police Warns Truck Drivers on Strike Against Infringing Rights of Others

Police have warned members of the Professional Truck Drivers' Association, who are on strike, against infringing on the rights of other road users, saying, doing so will invite law enforcement.

In a statement issued this morning, police spokesperson, James Kadadzera, says some of the truck drivers on strike are harassing and forcing other drivers who are not members of the association, to join the action.

"... particularly at Kanengo in Lilongwe...some overzealous association drivers are forcing drivers of every truck to park their vehicles and join the strike," says Kadadzera.

He says in some instances, the drivers are blocking roads with the trucks obstructing traffic passage.
