Supreme Court Reserves Ruling on AG's Application

The Supreme Court of Appeal in Blantyre has reserved its ruling to a date to be fixed for an application to amend notices of appeal by the Attorney General, Dr. Chikosa Silungwe, who wants to resuscitate an appeal case, challenging a payout of K3.04 billion to Mulli Brothers in compensation for damage to property during the 2011 violent protests.

Justice Frank Kapanda held the application today.

Dr. Silungwe wants to amend notices of appeal that had been filed in 2013 and appeal against another ruling made in 2014, which Mulli's lawyer Tamando Chokhotho argues is not a proper way of doing things.
