Bushiris Could Lose MK285 Million Property In SA
South Africa's eNCA is today Thursday reporting that Bushiri and his wife Mary have been warned to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Thursday or risk losing their R5.5-million (MK285 Million) property in Centurion.
A warrant has been issued for their arrest after they fled the country (South Africa) while out on bail.
Meanwhile, after spending a night in a Police cell at Lumbadzi Police Station, Bushiri and his wife Mary are expected to appear before the Lilongwe Magistrate Court this afternoon, where they will be formally told why they were arrested.
National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera told Zodiak online that the Bushiris will be taken to court when prosecutors complete all paper works.
Bushiri and his wife Mary are on the Interpol wanted list for fraud and money laundering offenses allegedly committed in South Africa.
They escaped from the rainbow nation last week citing security concerns. Bushiri also said he wanted to reach out to the government of Malawi to help him get a fair trial in the foreign nation.
The Pretoria Magistrate court in South Africa has since issued a warrant of arrest for the Bushiris who jumped bail.
Two-handed themselves to Police on Wednesday morning and Malawian authorities are now reviewing the extradition process for the two to South Africa.
