Malawi,Zambia Forms Special Committee to Resolve Border Wrangles

Malawi and Zambia have set aside a special committee to help resolve boundary disputes between the two countries in some notable areas.

Principal Secretary in the ministry of Homeland Security Kennedy Nkhoma, who is also the team leader for Malawi delegation, says among other areas the committee seeks to provide peace between people of Mchekeni village in Malawi and owners of Lusacco Estate in Zambia, where for some years they have been fighting over boundaries.

On Monday, officials from both countries including Ambassadors and security agents led by the committee inspected the territories of Mchekeni village and Lusacco Estate to reaffirm the boundaries before they come up with recommendations.
