Some Concerned People in Mzuzu Want Govt to Stop Bushiri's Extradition Process
A group of concerned businesspersons and religious leaders in Mzuzu is demanding government to reverse its decision to extradite Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary to South Africa where the two are answering money laundering and fraud charges.
The grouping has since given government a seven day ultimatum to stop the process, threatening an unspecified action should Lilongwe proceed with the process.
However, legal expert Dr. Sunduzwayo Madise says there’s nothing wrong with people making such demands but doubts if government would rescind its decision as it has a legal obligation both under international and local laws.
