3 Thousand Farmers Yet to Redeem AIP Fertilizer

With four days to go before the closure of this year's Affordable Input Program AIP - about 300,000 farmers across the country are yet to purchase the inputs.

Ministry of agriculture spokesperson Grecian Lungu on Monday attributed this to farmers deliberately not choosing to purchase the inputs because they have no identity card or they are dead while in others there are not inputs.

Lungu said now the ministry has engaged smallholder fertilizer revolving fund in mobile vending of the inputs to reach out to farmers who are yet to buy the inputs before the closure of the program on Saturday.
