CAMA Raises Alarm on Looming Plastic Pollution Crisis
Consumers Association of Malawi-CAMA has warned that if changes to policies and behavior are not made to minimize the use of plastics and production, the country may face a serious plastic pollution crisis in the near future.
In a statement released in commemoration of the World Consumer Rights Day today, CAMA executive director John Kapito claims an estimated 75 thousand tons of plastic is produced in the country each year, of which 80 percent cannot be recycled.
