Scabies Out-Break in DZ Worries Health Authorities

Out of two thousand four hundred and seventy-five people screened in Dedza recently, two thousand and ninety-nine have been diagnosed with scabies, a development that is of increasing concern to health authorities in the district.

An additional 376 people have also been diagnosed with other skin diseases. All these are cases in schools and some villages.

District Health Office spokesperson, Mwai Liabunya, says the district health office in conjunction with the dermatology department in the Ministry of Health are providing treatment to the affected.
