CHRR Calls on Legislators to Revise Laws Hindering ATI

The Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) has called on legislators to revise four laws which the human rights body believes are hindering access to information.

In a statement released yesterday, CHRR executive director Michael Kaiyatsa notes that the country is struggling with the implementation of the Access to Information law hence the call.

Malawi yesterday commemorated the International Day for Universal Access to Information.

Meanwhile, Minister of Information and government spokesperson Gospel Kazako argues that the Access to Information law is operational.
