Experts tip Malawi & Other SADC States to Embrace Continental Free Trade Area
International economic experts have tipped governments in southern Africa, including Malawi, to diversify their economies in response to the African Free Trade Area.
The experts were speaking at the 27th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts for Southern Africa underway in Blantyre.
Speaking after opening the session on yesterday, Malawi’s Minister of Finance Felix Mlusu said with the economy facing high inflation, the government is eying industrialization and widening the tax base to build a better backup.
