President Chakwera Calls for Systems’ Overhaul

President Lazarus Chakwera has called for an overhaul of the government systems in fixing the problems which the county is facing.

Speaking at parliament today morning where he delivered his State of the Nation Address (SONA), Chakwera said that leadership change should also reflect a change in government operations.

He went on to announce that his government will put in place strong measures to ensure fiscal discipline among them; review of benefits of senior government officials, reduction in procurement of motor vehicles, put a requirement for ministries to seek approval from the treasury before any recruitment and fast-tracking digitalization services.
