Political Friction Continues Inside Opposition DPP
Political friction in the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) continues; now with some members of the party National Governing Council accusing party president Arthur Peter Mutharika of being captured and no longer in charge.
The members Ken Msonda NGC member, Director of Operations Joe Nyirongo, and Deputy Director of Political Affairs Free Malata said this to reporters today in Lilongwe.
Msonda said appointed members into the National Governing Council instead of calling for an elective convention, Mutharika was raping the party constitution.
However, speaking on behalf of Mutharika, spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba says the NGC members are only Confucianists who may have been sent by DPP rivals.
