MCTU to Conduct Survey on Tonse Administration Job Creation

The Malawi Congress of Trade Unions (MCTU) says it is planning to undertake a nationwide survey to quantify the number of jobs that have been created so far since the current administration came into office.

MCTU General secretary, Madalitso Njolomole says the union has already finalized a concept note on the study which has been shared with its international partners for funding. He said the study will help the country to have one position on the number of jobs that have been created so far.

In his state of the Nation Address (SONA) President Lazarus Chakwera indicated that 997,423 thousand of the 1 million jobs the government promised have since been created.
