Interfaith group reflects on HIV/AIDS

The Malawi Interfaith and AIDS Association Neno chapter has impressed on Church leaders to encourage their faithful to take anti-retroviral drugs and not discourage them based on belief they can be cured through prayer.

Pastor Sikilo of Living Waters Church says pastors must desist from stopping HIV positive patients from taking food during fasting, noting that this affects the health of the patient.

Meanwhile, the chapter is also appealing to teachers and other motivational speakers to help learners who are HIV positive to adhere to drugs and take away the fear of being discriminated against by fellow learners.
