Tobacco Earnings Continue Falling

Malawi foreign exchange earnings from tobacco continue to tumble this season as it has only generated 66.9 Million USD an equivalent of about 67 Billion kwacha.

This is almost twice below last year's proceeds which reached 128.2 Million USD , which is about 128 billion kwacha.

AHL Groups General Manager, Graham Kunimba has told us today that the country has only managed to sell 32.3 kilograms this year down from 77.9 Million kgs of all tobacco types last season.
