Communnity Blames CEAR of Breach of CSR Agreement

Stakeholders have taken Central East African Railways (CEAR) and Vale Logistics Limited to task for alleged failure to fulfill corporate social responsibility.

Parliamentarians for the area, Nicholas Dausi for Mwanza central and Daudi Chikwanje for Machinga Central East claim CEAR and VALE pledged in vain to construct schools, renovate hospitals and construct roads among other things.

The concerns arose during the 7th joint stakeholders meeting on the NACALA corridor railway operation.

But CEAR and Vale Logistics Limited executive director, Gustavo Stein, has dismissed the claims saying the company has lived up to the agreement with government on CSR.
