MEC CEO Alfandika Facing-off With UTM Lawyers

Marshal Chilenga, lawyer for UTM president, Saulos Chilima, today dwelt on driving the constitutional court to see how laws were flouted in management of presidential election.

Chilenga did this as he cross-examined Malawi Electoral Commission CEO, Sam Alfandika, who is the first of three witnesses that MEC has lined up in its defense in the court.

Among other things this morning, Alfandika disclosed that MEC gave tippexed and altered result sheets to its commissioners for approvals which were granted.

The matter is back in court as cross-examination continues.
