Senior Chief Kaduya Fires GVH Chabuka Over AIP Disputes

Senior Chief Kaduya has fired Group Village Headman Chabuka, on suspicion that he was soliciting money from his subjects on pretext that they will be helped to access inputs in Affordable Input Programme (AIP) selling points.

Senior Chief Kaduya says GVH Chabuka had been collecting money ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 kwacha claiming the money was for fuel top up to SFFRM officials.

Meanwhile, the mobile vending system in this year’s Affordable Inputs Programme (AIP) is facing challenges as beneficiaries in some districts in the central region are taking time to access the inputs.

A Zodiak snap check in Ntcheu, Nkhotakota, Kasungu and Ntchisi Tuesday, show that despite beneficiaries having their national identity cards scanned and paying money for the commodity in advance, they are still waiting for the cheap inputs.

Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale says fertilizer the challenge will be rectified.
