Malawian Woman Dies in Indian Prison

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the death of a Malawian national identified as Beauty Nkhoma who died while in prison in New Delhi, India on Sunday.

Spokesperson in the ministry John Kabaghe told Zodiak that the woman, who was serving a jail term, fell ill and was admitted to a hospital where she died during treatment.

Kabaghe says the Malawi High Commissioner in India is holding talks with the family of the deceased on the logistics to have the body repatriated home.
