MEC Advised BDO to Certify Tippexed Results Sheets

Malawi Electoral Commission Chief Elections Officer, Sam Alfandika, yesterday told the constitutional court that his office wrote a letter to BDO Election Auditors advising them to certify tippexed results sheets after the Auditors refused to do the same.

Alfandika was responding to questions from Marshal Chilenga, a lawyer for UTM President Dr. Saulos Chilima, in the presidential election case this afternoon.

When asking questions on this matter, Chilenga referred the MEC CEO to an assignment termination report of the election, compiled by a firm which was tasked to provide audit service during the election.
