Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources Energy and Mining had an impromptu visit to Mapanga power station in Blantyre where it has been established that only 4 generators are functional, as the other 6 needs spare parts.
EGENCO officials told the committee led by Chairperson Welani Chilenga that, the generators came into the country without spare parts which could be used to fix them in cases of breakdown.
