2023 JCE Examinations Starts on Positive Note

Reports indicated the 2023 Junior Certificate of Education - JCE Examinations started on a positive note this morning across the country with 176, 341 students taking part.

In some areas though, there are incidences of students being denied to write the examinations because school authorities or teachers did not pay their examinations fees to the Malawi National Examinations Board – Maneb.

Supervisors in different centres in Lilongwe confirmed all went well this morning.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima says there is a need for parents and guardians to embrace digital platforms, to avoid being duped especially when making payments for examinations.

Kambauwa has said this when she toured some centres in Blantyre at the start of the JCE examinations. In Mangochi, some 20 students will not sit for the examinations after being swindled K850,000 in examination fees.
