Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) says Malawi is far from fruition of human rights as political leaders in the country are intolerant and choice of leaders is influencing by political needs.

Speaking to journalists yesterday, ahead of the International Day of Human Rights which falls on December 10, HRDC Vice Chairperson Gift Trapence said his organization will continue reaching out to Malawians in all regions in the country, so that Malawians are made aware of their rights and act where necessary.

Meanwhile, the HRDC has organized a march today as part of celebrations for the human rights day to bring to light human rights violations that Malawians have suffered.
