CCAP Livingstonia Backs Govt on Farm Subsidies Abolishment

The Church and Society of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia has weighed in calls on for government to abolish the Affordable Inputs Programme, describing it as highly politicized, bedeviled with corruption and benefiting a selected few.

Director of the programme Reverend McBowman Mulagha has suggested that the resources invested in the AIP should be channeled to other sectors such as agriculture extension.

Earlier, Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola Banda said during the opening of a pre-budget consultative meeting for the 2024/25 in Mzuzu that there are prospects that Malawi's economy will recover this year with growth projected at 3.2%.
