Malawi Needs Outside Help on Food - CHRR

The Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) wants government to urgently declare a food emergency for Malawi as it’s becoming increasingly clear that food shortage is worsening.

CHRR Executive Director, Michael Kaiyatsa, has stressed on need for immediate interventions, cautioning that the combination of cholera and hunger could lead to a catastrophic outcome.

Dedza, Dowa, Salima, Mangochi, Machinga, Mulanje, and Chikwawa, are but some of the district where the situation is now getting dire especially among the elderly, women, and children.
