Public Relations Officer for Chiradzulu Police, Cosmas Kagulo, confirmed the development, saying the suspects were arrested on the night of January 27 and 28, 2024, following a raid operation that Chiradzulu Police conducted around Yasin Trading Centre.

“The station has been receiving numerous reports that people around Yasin and Thomas Trading Centres are stealing the nuts over a period of time.

“Following the report, police organized the raid leading to the arrests of the suspects,” he added.

The suspects, whose ages range from 20 to 60, will soon appear before court of law to answer the charges leveled against them.

Eleven suspects are from the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Likoswe, while the other three hail from T/A Mpama in Chiradzulu District.
