Police in Dedza have expressed concern over reluctance by most women who are victims of gender-based violence to see their abusers face the law.

Dedza District Community Policing Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent Mourine Mnkhwamba, says most victims prefer to have the suspects released on grounds that they provide for their basic needs.
