High Import Tax Humpering Progress of Digital Malawi Project

BengolNet, a contractor in the Digital Malawi project has bemoaned high import tax on technological materials as one of the challenges the company is facing to implement the project.

The project among others is providing free internet access to schools, markets and hospitals.

Over the week, principal Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Baldwin Chiyamwaka said that the Ministry of Information in relation with other concerned ministries will consider looking into the issue saying that the goal is to see people accessing free WI-FI.
