UTM Orders its Members to Stop Attending Govt Functions

UTM secretary General, Patricia Kaliati has ordered all party members to stop attending government functions because the party is no longer in the ruling Tonse Alliance.

Speaking during a media conference today in Blantyre, Kaliati said no UTM supporter should be seen wearing party cloth at any government meeting.

The party has announced that it will hold its convention on 17 November, 2024

Meanwhile, political scientist George Phiri says the party's decision barring its members from attending government events means the vice president, Michael Usi, who is also the party's acting president, should not wear party regalia at government events.
