Tourism Grows as Malawi Launches National Tourism Month

Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule says the tourism sector has seen significant growth since the launch of the "Tiziyamba Ndife a Malawi" campaign, with an increasing number of Malawians visiting local tourist destinations.

Kamtukule made the statement at a press briefing in Lilongwe, ahead of the launch of this year's National Tourism Month on August 31, 2024.

The National Tourism Month, which runs from September 1 to September 30, will emphasize the importance of domestic tourism, celebrate the country's attractions, and assess the strengths and challenges in the tourism sector.

This year's National Tourism Month will be celebrated under the theme "Peace and Tourism."
