LL City Council to Punish Vendors & Customers for Street-Vending

The Lilongwe City Council says it will review and implement a law that will target customers for promoting street-vending, by buying from them.

The council’s Director of Administration Mussa Mwale was responding to why vendors and minibus touts still reign supreme in the city, even as some quarters have expressed reservations, adding that the challenge is exacerbated by the customers themselves.

Meanwhile, a Lilongwe resident Lawrent Kaunda says this just needs political will, because if government does not move in, the challenges to do with vendors and minibus touts will forever persists.
