MLS Wants Electoral System Changed

Malawi Law Society-MLS-says in order to avoid problems in future elections in the country, the 50 + 1 electoral reform bill should be brought back to parliament and passed into law.
MLS Honorary Secretary, Martha Kaukonde, says absence of the provision points to a possibility politicians are enjoying the divide and rule situation created by the first-past-the-post electoral system. Kaukonde says should, for example, the constitutional court hearing the Presidential election case order a fresh-election, Malawi is likely to have the same or just a different version of the current scenario.
