Timwamadzi Lipenga, author and lecturer of literature at Chancellor College yesterday launched Lomathinda Rose Chibambo Speaks, a book that chronicles the life of one of Malawi’s post-independence freedom fighters.
The book was launched in Lilongwe on Monday.
Lipenga stressed to journalists the importance for Malawi to preserve its’ history and draw lessons from it.
She observed that such information is critical to informing how to handle national issues.
In Lomathinda Rose Chibambo, the author brings afore the struggle for Malawi freedom from the perspective of this post-independence women freedom fighter.
Rose Chibambo was the first female Member of Parliament in Malawi and the first woman cabinet minister in the regime of Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
