Girl to Appeal Assault By Jealousy Wife
A girl who was assaulted and paraded nude in Mulanje on suspicion she was in a love affairs with a married man says she will be heading back to the courts for higher compensation after a magistrate awarded her K60,000 only with an extra K40,000 to be paid to government.
Mrs. Grace Matenda was arrested on assault charges after she attacked and paraded the girl naked in public for suspecting that the minor was having a love affair with Mr. Matenda.
On Friday last week, the district Magistrate’s court convicted and fined the woman K100,000 on both counts with K60,000 as compensation to the victim and K40,000 to government.
