Monsignor Thawale is New PAC Chair

Monsignor Patrick Thawale of the Lilongwe Arch-diocese of the Roman Catholic Church has been elected new Public Affairs Committee PAC chairperson.

He was elected at PACs annual general conference held in Blantyre on Wednesday.

The conference also elected brother Osman Karim as vice chairperson with Father Mark Mkandawire taking up the position of secretary. Reverend Dr. Davidson Chifungo takes charge of the body’s financial affairs while Bishop Gilford Matonga will be responsible for publicity.

The new office bearers come in at a time the image of the organization was fast coming into question as to its relevance and impartiality.
