HRDC Chairperson Timothy Mtambo says the investigation report by Malawi Human Rights Commission which implicates the police officers is evidence enough to warrant the action.

But National Police spokesperson James Kadadzera says the acting Inspector General will only take action after their analysis of the MHRC report.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police Responsible for Central Region Benson Tawakali has today lamented growing unprofessionalism among some police officers.

Tawakali says for instance he has observed that about 5 percent of the law enforcers are involved in corrupt practices eventually denting the image of the Services.

He was speaking today during the reopening of Mvama Police Unit in Lilongwe which was vandalized and later closed following people protests.
